The Basic Facts You Need

Wheel alignment refers to proper adjustment of the major suspension angles called the camber, caster, toe, and thrust. These represent the complex set of relationships between your auto body, axles, wheels, and the road surface. When the angles are appropriately adjusted, you have more control over your vehicle. Traction is maximized because the tires make the most possible contact with the pavement, and wear on other components is minimized. Over time, in the event of a crash, or through contact with major bumps or holes, the wheel alignment can become skewed. Therefore, it’s a good idea to have us check the alignment periodically. Most agree that should be about once per year and when you purchase a new set of tires. However, there are some signs you may notice that should prompt you to schedule a wheel alignment sooner. One of the most frequently noticed manifestations is uneven tire wear. When your tires are worn significantly more in some areas than others, it’s an almost certain sign of poor wheel alignment. You may also feel your automobile pulling to one side as you try to drive straight ahead. Other signals can include a high pitched noise emitting from the tires and a steering wheel that won’t return to center position.
